CWEEP’s mission is to re-establish the West Englewood community as a desirable place to live, work and play. The West Englewood community has faced a number of challenges over the years, from economic hardship and high crime rates to deteriorating infrastructure and limited access to quality education and healthcare.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to help the community overcome these obstacles and reclaim its rightful place as a thriving and vibrant neighborhood. To achieve this goal, we are focused on developing a range of initiatives, including job creation efforts, training workshops, economic development programs, infrastructure improvements, affordable housing initiatives, increasing access to better education and healthcare, and the development of activities for the children of the community.

By bringing together community members, local businesses, and other nonprofit organizations, we are confident that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of West Englewood residents, and help build a brighter future for the entire community.

Planned Projects and Activities

We are committed to developing a range of programs that will help improve the quality of life for residents of the West Englewood community. One of our key priorities is education, and we are dedicated to providing opportunities for residents to improve their skills and knowledge through virtual workshops and informational flyers. Our education programs will include adult literacy classes, after-school tutoring services for children, development of basic job skills and resume writing.

In addition to education, we believe that entrepreneurship is a key driver of economic growth and development. When a resident expresses an interest in starting a business, we will be launching a range of initiatives, including business startup training, mentorship, and identifying funding opportunities.

Another key focus for CWEEP is improving housing conditions in the community. We recognize that many residents are living in substandard or inadequate housing and we are committed to working to improve their living conditions through partnering with Habitat for Humanity and creating opportunities to rehab/refresh their existing residences one room at a time.

Finally, we understand the importance of providing our children with safe and engaging activities. To this end, CWEEP will partner with existing nonprofits and businesses to provide after-school programs, summer camps, and sports for children of all ages. These activities will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow and thrive.
